The Eastside extends from the Harbor area at Seabright to 41st Ave. Residences along the cliff edge string along the entire stretch. Most houses are protected by riprap boulders while quite a few in the Pleasure Point area have concrete seawalls. Some with both. There are several lagoons that collect runoff from the streets and springs that empty into the bay during the winter months. These lagoons are high in fecal bacteria due to the abundance of bird life attracted to the lagoon. |

The beaches along this stretch are few with the water line close to the armoring in most cases. At the time of this writing, there is a proposed cliff stabilization project proposed for the Pleasure Point area. It would extend from 32nd Ave. to 36th Ave. It's called a soil nail wall which would be a veneer of concrete over the existing contour of the cliff.

Access to the Pleasure Point surf is limited to 3 or 4 spots. Sewer Peak has a stairway as does 36th and 38th Aves. But at the base of these stairways, there is riprap boulders which hamper a safe entry and exit at higher tides. At the top of the point, at 32nd Ave., there is a "goat trail" which switchbacks to the seawall below.
East Cliff Dr. is failing in several spots along the Pleasure Point stretch. There's a sewage pipe directly below the roadway which will be a concern in the coming years.
