Help
us Wipe Out Plastic Takeout in Santa Cruz!!
Here's
what's up with Surfrider's work on polystyrene bans
around the Santa Cruz area: We'll be at the public
meetings to state our support, for sure, so we wanted
to let you all know the meeting dates too.
The
Santa Cruz Chapter is supporting the bans as proposed
at this writing. We're treating them as an important
first step towards more comprehensive plastic-item
bans in the future. Surfrider members, supporters,
and friends have been VERY effective with pariticpation
in this area-wide campaign to date, so here's the
way to follow-up.
Below,
we have provided contact info if you want to get personally
involved. Remember, emails, calls, and letters to
public bodies became part of the official public record.
We encourage you to state your appreciation to the
decision-makers (our elected officals) for considering
the coastal public's desire to get the plastic plague
trashing our waters, neighborhoods, and beaches under
control.
